Are you kidding me??? What kind of romance is this garbage! The book starts with a prologue explaining why the H and h married (his father had made several bad investments and was facing bankruptcy and her mother was an alcoholic deep in debt needing to go into rehab) and ends with them getting hitched. The first chapter picks up 8 years later with the H getting dressed after having spent the night with his Paris/Brussels mistress. You see, he currently has three mistresses - a redhead model in Paris/Brussels, a "sultry Russian model in London and an Icelandic blonde in New York". Yeah, that's right. 3 mistresses at the same time! So not lovely! Later that same day, he meets his wife for lunch to celebrate her birthday and this is where she tells him she wants a divorce since he's gone on with his life and she wants to also, that she wants a baby. He's not happy because he assumed she married him for love and someday when he was ready to settle down, he would with her.
Up to this point I'm thoroughly disgusted with the H - what a jerk! He tells her if she wants a baby, he'll give her one. He then has sex with her AFTER she told him "no", but "no" to him just meant "yes". Now, I need to back up and mention something. He thought he had raped her on the night of their wedding and he carried that guilt with him for years (that's why he proceeded over the next 8 years to have countless affairs). He found out at the luncheon he did not rape her, so what does he do back at her home? Forces her to have sex with him after she told him "no". Of course, he plays it off and states she really, really wanted to have sex with him, got her all hot and bothered and pliable, so that made it okay. Not in my book. No is no.
So....he had sex with his Paris/Brussels mistress the night before, left her in the morning to fly to London to be with his wife at 1 p.m. and had sex with her soon after that. READERS - do you compute that he slept with 2 women in about 8 hours? ICK!!! Would any of you want to sleep with a man who just hours before was intimate with someone else? How is this romantic? It's just G-R-O-S-S!
Now, his wife KNOWS he has 3 mistresses. A SMART woman would've been asking him 3 things prior to having sex with him: 1 - Do you have a clean bill of health? 2 - which mistress did you have sex with last night - your Paris/Brussels mistress or your London one? and 3 - which one are you going to have sex with tonight? (Which means he would have sex with 3 different women in a little over 12 hours. Double ICK!) Does she ask any of those questions? No!
Oh, it gets worse. Towards the end of the book, they are at a party. The H comes out of a meeting with the host and sees his wife surrounded by 3 of his ex-lovers! They are all wondering and asking what his wife has that they didn't. Basically, the h doesn't say a thing, just smiles. The H goes to "save" her. Again, at this point I would've been saying a whole lot. Like pointing out the fact that he knew all of their bodies intimately and vice versa and how he ought to be hanging his head in shame! The h ought to have walked out and left him. Really, when is enough enough? It's one thing to be demure and quiet, but another to be a doormat and let a horrible person treat you so disrespectfully. Of course, she doesn't do anything. It would be too much to ask for or expect.
He doesn't think he's done anything wrong since they never lived together as man and wife. What? Did they or did they not get married in a church, sign papers to that fact and portray themselves as husband and wife? Sick and twisted this man is.
Recommend? Of course, I always do because you may like it unlike me.

The Greek Chosen Wife Harlequin comics Mediterranean Marriage series Book 6 eBook Lynne Graham Natsu Momose Reviews
Didn't like the beginning...but the ending was cute....the grandfather was hell ...I wish the main character were a little stronger...some sound pathetic
From the back "It's been eight years since Prudence's arranged marriage to Nikolas Angelis. Their relationship was never consummated and they have always lived apart. But now Prudence longs to have her own baby and she wants a divorce. However, Nik is horrified- HE is her husband and HE will be the father of her child! Prudence reluctantly agrees to a trial marriage with Nik. But conceiving his baby? That's not a risk she's willing to take." At first I didn't like Nik but as the story progressed, I grew to like him because he actually DID love his wife all along. Enjoyable read.
I think in this book LG has really tested the tastes of her Readers. She has described his three mistresses as if they were feathers in the cap of the H. It seems as if the womanizing is a virtue to be admired! He is totally shameless with the audacity to want a virgin in his wife and justifies his behavior by telling her that he wouldn't have had these women if they had lived together! He feels guilty about his wedding night and consoles himself by blatantly taking other women and expecting the h to accept it as normal for the next eight years of their marriage! This story defies all logic of human behavior! In these 8 yrs they have remained friends and she trusts and respects him!! Respect??? The h is a straightforward strong lady who doesn't kowtow to his ego. He does redeem himself later but I think the 8 yr. gap and the womanizing were a little overboard! A man who suspects that he may have roughed up his wife on their wedding day consoles his guilt by womanizing in a high profile way? Difficult to swallow! LG is an excellent storyteller hence the 3 stars.
What happens when an interfering male makes two people marry? You get "The Greek's Chosen WIfe". Poor Prudence is blackmailed into to a marriage with Nic. And he must marry her to save his families bussness. Now eight years later they are still married but not together. This is where the story starts to get good. Yes his is a man-whore. Not very good reasons for it IMHO but I didn't write the story. She is still a sweet woman/child. But now she wants more. WIll he let her go to pursue her dreams or will he make sure he is part of those dreams? I trully liked this story's HEA.
I just hated this story PERIOD!
Sure this started with a misunderstanding in the wedding, but he has no excuse. H never went after her, but still considers her his wife.
He..... was never there for her, and just to add salt to a festering wound, has 3 mistresses.... had he dumps one in the beginning though all of them still hurt the Heroine.
While she is... wimpy ( to put it politely) sure being fat and told your ugly and hated by your grandfather and husband will do that to you. Her only strong moment is the beginning when she wants a divorce and it's all down hill from there.
I might have forgiven this story if she slammed the door in his face and never looked back, but no she come crawling back to him, only for him to reject her and make his own offer.
What happened after the wedding, understandable and forgiveable, his mistresses.... That was His CHOICE and I can't forget or forgive him for that.
The illustrator and editor did a good job getting the story across, just the story choice was an absolute wreck.
If you like a story where the Heroine gets stomped on which little to no redemption and the guy gets exactly what he wants..... go for it.
Oh and the reason he loves her is because he likes them Big.
She deserves someone SO much Better, someone who'll bring her up, not bring her down so she clings to him.
